氢分子医学的新启示:一些临床药物的奇怪作用

这个观点实际上与我去年的文章是类似的,我们去年提出的观点是内源性氢是一种抗氧化物质,这个文章的观点是有些糖尿病药物,可抑制能量物质吸收,有一个明显的副作用是大肠内产生气体,这类药物往往具有器官保护作用。过去一直不明白为什么这样。日本学者提出的这个观点,我是非常同意。过去1年我们课题组多次讨论到这个话题。可惜我们没有把这个观点形成文章。真的十分可惜。

Abstract

The major side-effect of treatment with α -glucosidase inhibitors, flatulence, occurs when undigested carbohydrates are fermented by colonic bacteria, resulting in gas formation. We propose that the cardiovascular benefits of α -glucosidase inhibitors are partly attributable to their ability to neutralise oxidative stress via increased production of H 2in the gastrointestinal tract. Acarbose, which is an α -glucosidase inhibitor, markedly increased H 2production, with a weaker effect on methane production. Our hypothesis is based on our recent discovery that H 2acts as a unique antioxidant, and that when inhaled or taken orally as H 2-dissolved water it ameliorates ischaemia–reperfusion injury and atherosclerosis development.
